Brimbleworth Farm

Gould Architects worked closely with the Local Authority Conservation Officer, Archaeologist and Planning team to prepare proposals for the recording, repair and conservation of the Grade II listed farmhouse. The farmhouse was in a derelict state and had been open to the elements for a number of years following a fire that had destroyed the roof of the building. Beautifully carved beams and ceiling timbers had been partially destroyed in the fire and the design process involved piecing together the remains to establish what could be salvaged or reconstructed. The proposals for adapting the farmhouse into two cottages adopted a conservative approach to the listed building, retained the historic fabric and character of the building for future generations to appreciate.
